TWB Glossary: Paintcheck!
A player calls for a 'paintcheck' when he feels or suspects he's been hit,
but cannot see the mark, as in being hit on the back, or the top of the head.
A referee- or in some cases another player- comes over to check for a hit.
If there's a hit, and it's the size of a quarter or larger, that player is "out".
TWB Rules: Grenades
Paintball grenades typically don't work very well. Some are simply rubber hoses filled
with 'paint', which squirts out when a plug pops out of the tube. Some used actually have
a small blackpowder charge (about like a strong firecracker.) Either style usually has a
"blast radius" measured in inches, and so aren't very effective.
To help this a bit, most fields have an "any mark" rule- instead of the hit needing to
be about the size of a quarter or larger, as with a regular paintball hit, when using
a grenade, any visible spot of paint is considered an "out".
And even then, they're still not very effective.
